2026 is the 30th anniversary of the publication of Youth Apart, and the 38th anniversary of Children in the Way. Both of them made radical recommendations, some of which were implemented but many of which remain ‘on the shelf’. So we are hosting a day conference for children and youth workers, volunteers, and clergy, at Mossley Hill Church on Saturday 17th October to look at the lessons from the past and learnings for the future through the lens of reports and research in children & youth Ministry.
There will be keynote speakers: Ali Campbell, Ann Gasson, Prof Sarah Holmes and Nick Harding. As well as a variety of workshops: neurodiversity and worship – Lisa Campbell, children and the sacraments – Sue Mitchell, Godly Play – Mary Hawes, Under 5 worship – Joanne Gordon, Employing children and youth workers – Ali Campbell, Intergen worship – Melanie Cave.
The day will start and end with intergen worship and Bishop Ruth will host a panel discussion in the afternoon. There will be several Christian resource providers in the market place too (Roots, prayer spaces in church, wonderfully me, Godly Play etc)
Tea, coffee and cake provided in the £10 pp ticket price, bring your own lunch.
