Vision

Living our best life with Jesus

At Mossley Hill Church, we are a vibrant, family-friendly, and welcoming community committed to living fully in Jesus — growing in faith, joy, and love so that our lives reflect His hope and purpose. We believe that life with Jesus shapes who we are, how we love, and how we serve, offering purpose, resilience, and transformation for every life and season.

Mission

Inspiring and serving our community by sharing faith and working for justice

Our mission flows out of the heart of Jesus’ invitation to love God and love neighbour. We seek to share faith authentically, serve generously, and work for justice in practical, relational ways. Through worship, compassion, outreach, and partnership, we exist to inspire hope, strengthen community, and model Christ-like service in Mossley Hill and beyond.

Our Context

Mossley Hill Church is an active Anglican parish in south Liverpool — a place where worship, community, and service intersect. We offer a range of services and groups and a warm welcome to all who come through our doors. Our life together is shaped by prayer, fellowship, discipleship, and engagement with the community around us.

Strategic Aims

1. Students

Aim: To support students living at Greenbank Halls of Residence through a programme of well-being events.
We seek to offer spaces of care, encouragement, belonging and practical support to the large student community nearby, helping students feel connected and supported in mind, body, and spirit.

2. Community

Aim: To engage more closely with our local community.
We will deepen partnerships with neighbours, organisations, schools, and community groups, becoming a visible presence of welcome and service. Our aim is to listen, respond and work together for the flourishing of Mossley Hill.

3. Youth

Aim: To enable young people to develop their identity and self-esteem.
Through youth groups, mentoring, creative expression, and intentional discipleship, we will create environments where young people can explore identity, build confidence, make meaningful connections, and grow in a positive sense of self rooted in Christ.

4. Discipleship

Aim: To develop a sense of belonging, participation, and learning for all.
We will cultivate pathways for spiritual growth that are accessible and relational, from small groups to courses, and from prayer gatherings to reflective study — welcoming seekers and mature believers alike into deeper relationship with Jesus.

5. Pastoral

Aim: To deliver pastoral care to our church family and community.
Care is central to our calling. We commit to walking alongside people in times of joy and challenge, offering compassionate listening, prayer, practical support, and encouragement for individuals and families across generations.

Guiding Principles

Christ-Centred

Everything we do is rooted in the life and love of Jesus, centred on worship, prayer, and service.

Welcoming & Inclusive

We open our doors and hearts to all, creating spaces where people can belong, be known, and grow.

Community-Focused

Our buildings, programmes, and relationships reflect a desire to serve Mossley Hill — hosting cultural events, fellowship opportunities, and partnerships with local groups.

Lifelong Growth

We champion discipleship that is lifelong and life-deepening, supporting people of all ages in their journey of faith.

Justice & Compassion

Inspired by Jesus’ example, we seek justice, care for the vulnerable, and act with compassion in tangible ways.

We commit to living our best life with Jesus, inspiring and serving those around us, and working together toward justice and flourishing for all.
