Community at the Heart of Who We Are

We believe that church is not just something you attend—it is something you belong to.

At the heart of our life together is a deep commitment to community: to knowing one another, supporting one another, and working together for the good of the wider neighbourhood. Our faith calls us not only to gather in worship, but to be present, active, and compassionate in the world around us.

Rooted in Faith, Reaching Out in Love

Our life as a church is shaped by the example of Jesus, who placed relationships, compassion, and justice at the centre of everything he did. This means that community is not an “extra” for us—it is central to our calling.

We seek to be a place where:

  • Everyone is welcomed and valued

  • Friendships can grow across generations and backgrounds

  • Practical support is offered in times of need

  • People can explore faith in an open and honest way

Connected to Our Wider Community

We are proud to be part of a rich and diverse local community, and we actively look for ways to build meaningful connections beyond our church walls.

This includes:

  • Partnering with local organisations and charities

  • Supporting community initiatives and events

  • Opening our spaces for community use

  • Creating opportunities for creativity, wellbeing, and belonging

We believe that the church thrives when it is outward-looking—listening, responding, and contributing to the life of the neighbourhood.

Whether you are exploring faith for the first time, returning after some time away, or simply looking for connection, there is a place for you here.

Community is not just something we talk about—it is something we are continually building together.

Mossley Hill Residents’ Association

Our Rector and Associate Minister both sit on the Resident’s Association Committee to ensure there is joined up thinking when it comes to serving local residents. We often do joint events together like the Christmas lights switch on  and the Mossley Hill Festival

Local ward  councillors

“Mossley Hill Church continues to be a cornerstone of our community, working hand in hand with local partners to make a real difference in people’s lives. Through its
collaboration with elected representatives like myself, residents’ associations, and its employment of a youth worker, the church has become more than just a place of worship—it is a hub of support, kindness, and shared purpose. This commitment to partnership ensures that the church is not only present in the heart of Mossley Hill but actively shaping its future for the better.”
Rob McCallister-Bell, local ward councillor for Mossley Hill

Local Businesses

We also seek to partner with local businesses, especially when it comes to hosting the
annual Mossley Hill Festival which celebrates our shared community life together. Our Rector is a regular in the Rose of Mossley and you can find her pulling pints every Christmas at the Carol Sing-a-long Fundraiser!

Mossley Hill Athletics Club

The Club and Mossley Hill church have enjoyed a special
relationship ever since the club was founded in 1925 when the vicar at the time thought it would be a good idea for the community to create a local cricket club and
give people hope post war.
